This strawberry chia jam is fresh, fruity and easy to make without traditional jam-making. Chia seeds thicken the mixture naturally, while fresh strawberries provide the main flavour and an optional liquid sweetener can be added to taste.

At Eczema Association New Zealand, we know some individuals and whānau living with eczema may also be navigating food allergies or dietary restrictions. This strawberry chia jam uses only a few simple plant-based ingredients and contains no dairy or egg as written, which may make it a useful option for some households. Suitability still depends on individual allergies and the specific ingredients chosen.

With no cooking required, it is a straightforward make-ahead spread for breakfasts, snacks and simple desserts.
